DRESS CODE
To ensure that all students are appropriately dressed and wear appropriate shoes, Spotlight Studio has a dress code policy. Please put your name/initials in all dance shoes and dancewear in case of loss. If you change shoes during class for a different subject or are in a combo ballet/tap class, you will need to have a bag designated just for dance shoes and dancewear.
Hair should always be neatly pulled back away from the face. Hair must be in a bun for ballet.
PLEASE NOTE: Jeans, jean shorts, pants or other types of “school attire” are not allowed. Proper dance shoes should be worn in all classes. Street shoes are not permitted in the studio at any time. If you are unable to change before coming to class, bring your dance clothes with you to change in the dressing room.

COMBO BALLET/TAP CLASS:
ATTIRE: Leotard and tights of any color, ballet skirts, shorts, and ballet warm-ups are allowed, for instance: shrugs, leg warmers, ballet sweaters. Exercise or aerobic attire.
GIRLS SHOES: Ballet – Full sole flat ballet shoes. Pink. Leather, not satin or cloth. Tap – Tan Mary Janes with a buckle.
BOYS SHOES: Ballet – Full sole flat ballet shoes. Black. Leather, not satin or cloth. Tap – Black lace up oxford.
OTHER: small book or notebook to collect stickers
BALLET
ATTIRE: Black leotards and pink convertible tights. Ballet skirts and ballet warm-ups are allowed, for instance: shrugs, leg warmers, ballet sweaters during the barre warmup only.
GIRLS SHOES: Split sole flat ballet shoes. Pink. Canvas.
BOYS SHOES: Split sole flat ballet shoes. Black. Canvas.
Pointe shoes are to be chosen and approved by the instructor.
TAP
ATTIRE: Leotard and tights of any color. Exercise or aerobic attire. Feet and ankles must be visible.
GIRLS SHOES: Black lace up oxford with a full hard sole.
BOYS SHOES: Black lace up oxford with a full hard sole.
JAZZ
ATTIRE: Leotard and tights of any color, shorts. Skin tight clothing. Exercise or aerobic attire.
GIRLS SHOES: Tan jazz slip on.
BOYS SHOES: Black jazz slip on.
LYRICAL
ATTIRE: Leotard and tights of any color (tights should be footless or convertable allowing for bare feet), skirts. Skin tight clothing. Exercise or aerobic attire.
SHOES: Nude Foot undeez or dance paws for mini, junior and preteen age groups.
MODERN
ATTIRE: Leotard and tights of any color, capris or pants. Skin tight clothing, Exercise or aerobic attire. Nude colored knee pads.
SHOES: None
ACRO
ATTIRE: Leotard and convertible tights(optional) of any color, shorts, capris or pants. Skin tight clothing, Exercise or aerobic attire.
SHOES: None
HIP HOP
ATTIRE: Loose comfortable clothing. Exercise or aerobic attire.
SHOES: Special order sneaker that can be purchased at Dancers Pointe. Mini Color-Fuchsia, Petite GIRLS SHOES (Please note different colors for different group):
Mini and Petite-Fuchsia, Junior – Silver, Preteen – Silver, Teen and Senior – Black
BOYS SHOES (All levels): Black
MUSICAL THEATRE
ATTIRE: Leotard and tights of any color, skirts. Skin tight clothing. Exercise or aerobic attire.
